Description

Victor Atiyeh served as governor of Oregon from 1979-1987. This is one part of an oral history interview that was originally recorded on over 60 cassette tapes by the Oregon Historical Society. It is accompanied by a typed transcript. This portion covers: his children Tom and Suzanne Atiyeh in early 1990s; his nephew George in early 1990s; his wife Dolores in early 1990s; friendships with Jim Campbell and Tom Galt; self-identified character traits; reading for enjoyment: the American Civil War and the United States’ Constitution; thoughts on the Constitution; meaning of the 4th of July to Atiyeh.
